The BIG day is finally here!!

The day I've been waiting on for...oh, only 46 years is here! In just about 6 hours I will hold in my hands something that I've dreamed about my entire life, a children's book with MY illustrations in them! Oh my! I still can't believe it. Probably not until I actually have it in my hands will I really be able too! And even then, I'm not sure it will truly sink in for awhile.

There was a time, not that long ago, that I had given up on that dream ever coming true. I had allowed myself to believe the comments of a few that I would never be able to draw again. Thank God for my sweet, supportive husband! God used Dean and twitter (yes, twitter, silly I know!) to push me back towards my other lifelong dream, that of being an artist.

I just want to thank my dear husband Dean, and God for always believing in me. Without you both this day would have never been =) I love you both, more than words can express.

First solo exhibit!!

Today I delivered my artwork to a Cupcake Boutique here in Knoxville. My first solo exhibition will be there for the entire month of November. I'm so excited!
Despite this excitement, I felt a flood of doubt this afternoon as I was about to load the car. Why had I ever agreed to hang work there? It's too soon. I'm not sure anyone really wants to see my work. What was I thinking??
Fortunately, my husband and friend, cheered me on. I loaded up the car, and off I went. Now there's no way I would have gone back on my word and not taken it, but I felt almost paralized there for just a little bit.I don't know where that came from. It hit me so quick, I didn't even see it coming. Funny how that can happen some times. I don't like it. Thank goodness deep down I know that I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me!
So, come this Tuesday, 10am, at Cities Cupcake Boutique, my very first solo exhibit will be open for all to see! Hope i see ya there =)  

Terrific Thursday

I have totally enjoyed this day. I was able to sleep in , just a little. Then I've been able to clean, just a little. And I've started two drawings, that will be in the upcoming exhibition at Cities Cupcake Boutique. Looking forward to our wonderfully comfortable bed this evening. Hope you are having a great day too =)

Almost finished

Not much longer, and the children's book illustrations will be done. Then it will be published =)

 50 % of profits will be donated to the Lupus Foundation of America.

Whew, where'd that come from?

I'm sitting here on the couch, but I shouldn't be. I have dinner to make, a kid to pick up, and many art projects to work on. But I hit the wall, and how! Shew, all of a sudden, I'm plumb exhausted.

Do I have time for a cat-nap? Hmmm....

Technology

All this technology stuff sure takes a long time. There doesn't seem to be enough time to facebook, twitter, blog, run a shop on Etsy and Zazzle, and still be able to create. There must be a balance somewhere. Guess I'll find it ...eventually.

Can't sleep

Well, here I am at 6am. Been up since 3:45. Why? I don't know. The bed will be calling my name this afternoon!

I am looking forward to working on the book illustrations today. I'm hoping to make a big dent in it. I have so many ideas for paintings and drawings, there just isn't enough time.

Off to accomplish...something.

And so little time! Today is errand day, but I have to work on art projects as well. So it's off to run errands early, and hopefully art in the afternoon =)
